Sujeewa Senasinghe absent in court

 

Ex-Deputy Minister of Justice Sujeewa Senasinghe , the main suspect charged with  violating election laws and obstructing the duty of the Police at Habarakada in Homagama during the general elections, was absent from court for the third day today, when the case was called before Homagama Magistrate Y.R.B.Nelundeniya.

Police moved for a warrant to arrest the suspect, but the Magistrate who refused it ordered to notice the suspect through court Fiscal to appear in court on September 30, 2015.

The Magistrate ordered the release of the second suspect on personal bail of Rs.200,000 and discharged the other three suspects.

He also ordered to handover the vehicle involved in the incident to the Athurugiriya Police. CI  Sanjeewa Mahanama and Sergeant Wijeratne of the Athurugiriya Police made submissions for the State, while Attorney at Law Upali Senaratne appeared for the suspects.
