Gammanpila goes Underground, NOT invited for UPFA Party Leaders’ Meeting

Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU) leader Udaya Gammanpila said that he was not invited for the UPFA party leaders’ meeting with President Maithripala Sirisena.

Speaking to a prominent online news portal, he confirmed that several United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) partners were considering the formation of a separate alliance to contest the upcoming elections.

Over the weekend, Prof. Tissa Vitharana of the Lanka Sama Samaja Party and Vasudeva Nanayakkara of the Left Democratic Front told media that such moves were in the making.

The local government elections are expected to be held within the coming few months.
