12,061 arrested with narcotics within a month

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Police have arrested 12,061 persons with stocks of narcotics including 67.5 kilograms of heroin, during the Drug Prevention Month.

The Office of the Police Media Spokesperson said 12,177 cases had been filed against the suspects, arrested during the raids.

The Police Narcotics Bureau carried out raids for a period of one month, from the 10th of September, with the aim of preventing the circulation and the use of narcotics in Sri Lanka.
