Arjuna, Dhammika before Presidential Commission today

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Minister Arjuna Ranatunga and his brother Dhammika Ranatunga have been asked to appear before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) probing state sector corruption today (Oct 22).

They are due to give evidence over alleged financial irregularities which had taken place while purchasing oil using the spot tender method, after cancelling long-term contracts to this effect.

Minister Ranatunga had been serving as the Petroleum Resources Development Minister at that time while his brother Dhammika had been functioning as the Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.

Both individuals have been asked to provide a statement to the Police Unit of the PCoI today, a spokesman for the Presidential Commission said.
