(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – The United National Party (UNP) yesterday (29) decided to suspend the party membership of State Minister Wasantha Senanayake, UNP General Secretary Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said.
Senanayake, who is state minister of foreign affairs will be stripped off that title in due course, the UNP General Secretary stated.
There was speculation in the media in recent times that State Minister Senanayake was trying to switch sides and support the SLPP candidate at the upcoming Presidential election.
