(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Navy SC, Colts CC, Chilaw Marians CC and Tamil Union C & AC finished on top of their respective groups after the first round of the Major Emerging Inter-Club tournament.
Navy SC, SSC (from Group ‘A’), Colts CC, NCC (from Group ‘B’), Chilaw Marians CC, Air Force SC (from Group ‘C’), Tamil Union C & AC and Army SC (from Group ‘D’) advanced to the quarterfinal round.
Twenty-four club teams played in the first round in 4 groups on a league basis.
The top two teams from each group qualified for the quarterfinals which will be held on 12,13 and 14 November at 4 venues namely NCC, BRC, Colts and MCG Katunayake.
The semi-finals will be played on 19, 20 and 21 November at MCG Katunayake and P. Sara Oval and the final on 24, 25 and 26 November at De Soysa Stadium Moratuwa. – YK (DN)
