SLFP to continue reform agenda targeting elections

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Minister Mahinda Amaraweera says the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will continue its reform agenda targeting upcoming elections.

Speaking to media in Sapugaskanda today, Minister Amaraweera noted that the SLFP will not in any way sabotage the activities of the present government.

He said President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has presented a stringent programme to rebuild the country and therefore noted that all factions must support the initiatives of the present administration.

Minister Mahinda Amaraweera added that the SLFP is not intending on competing with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) to obtain posts and claimed he will continue to work cordially with the SLPP.

He added the SLFP will hold discussions with the SLPP and other parties pertaining to the modalities of contesting future elections.
