Three suspects apprehended during Navy – Police anti-drug operation [VIDEO]

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Three persons have been apprehended during a Navy – Police anti-drug operation conducted yesterday (15).

The Navy, which is conducting regular operations to curb drug trafficking, has conducted an operation in coordination with the Mannar Division Vice Squad in the Konthappiddi area in Mannar and searched these 3 suspects. Incidentally, 490 milligrams of heroin has been found in the possession of the suspects whom were subsequently apprehended.

Further investigation revealed that one of the suspects has arrived at the location to buy heroin, while the other 2 are drug dealers in the area. The suspects have been identified as residents of Mannar and Silawathura and they were handed over to the Mannar Police for onward investigation, along with drugs.
