34,842 persons affected by bad weather

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Several districts have been severely affected by the prevailing inclement weather.

The Disaster Management Centre said 34,842 persons belonging to 9,962 families have been affected due to the inclement weather experienced in the country.

Meanwhile the tri-forces took measures to rescue persons stranded due to flash floods in several areas, by means of helicopters.

The Ministry of Defence said the tri-forces have been provided with all necessary facilities to continue efforts.
