Two trains decommissioned due to less commuters

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Two trains operating between Colombo Fort and Kankesanthurai will be decommissioned due to a drop in commuters from 31 December.

According to the Department of Railways, trains 87 and 88 will not operate further from Tuesday.

Two trains will instead ply between Colombo Fort and Talaimannar from 01 January 2020, whereby the trains depart from the Fort Railway Station in Colombo at 7.15 PM and reach Talaimannar at 3.25 AM.

The train will resume its service once again from Talaimannar at 8.25 PM to reach the Fort Railway Station in Colombo by 4.40 AM.
