(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Attorney General Dappula de Livera has written to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to probe political vengeance that it does not have judicial or authoritative power to summon him to record a statement.

The Presidential Commission of Inquiry had summoned the Attorney General to inquire details into summoning its Secretary Pearl Weerasinghe.

The Attorney General’s Department said Attorney General Dappula de Livera accordingly responded to the summons.

The Permanent High Court at Bar yesterday issued a second warrant for the arrest of the Secretary of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to probe political vengeance, Pearl Weerasinghe.

The first warrant for her arrest was issued on the 6th of March.

Both warrants were issued as she failed to appear before Court for a hearing.
