Curfew lifted in some areas today to be reimposed at 2.00 PM

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – The Police curfew lifted this morning in some areas is to be reimposed at 2pm today.

The Police curfew was lifted in all areas, except for the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara & Puttalam Districts, and the Northern Province, at 06.00 a.m. today and was to be reimposed at 12.00 noon the same day.

The President’s Media Division (PMD) said however, the curfew has been extended and will be reimposed at 02.00 p.m and not 12.00 noon as announced earlier.

The Division further said the Police curfew in the above mentioned areas will continue till 06.00 a.m. on Monday (30), and will be re-imposed at 02.00 p.m. the same day.

Meanwhile, the Police curfew to the Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara Districts, is in effect until further notice.

The three Districts have been identified as high risk areas for the spread of the novel coronavirus in Sri lanka.

The PMD added that the Police curfew for 4 Districts in the Northern Province and the Puttalam District will be lifted at 06.00 a.m. tomorrow (27) and will be reimposed at 02.00 p.m the same day.

The police curfew imposed in the Jaffna District will not be lifted tomorrow and has been extended until further notice, it said.
