COVID-19: Sri Lanka’s recoveries count hits 1,252

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Ministry of Health confirms that 56 more persons who had tested positive for COVID-19 were discharged from respective hospitals as they have returned to health.

These patients had been receiving treatment at the Infectious Disease Hospital (10), Welikanda Base Hospital (02), Colombo East Base Hospital (01), Iranawila Hospital (16), Kattankudy Base Hospital (07), Welisara Navy Hospital (09), Homagama Base Hospital (07), Minuwangoda Base Hospital (03) and Hambantota District General Hospital (01).

Coronavirus recoveries in Sri Lanka count thereby increased to 1,252.

In the meantime, COVID-19 patients count hit 1,880 on Friday (12) with 03 fresh positive cases.

This brings the active virus-positive cases under medical care to 617.

According to the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 647 of the total number of confirmed cases are Sri Lankans who returned to the country from foreign countries and 884 are naval personnel.

Sri Lanka has confirmed 11 deaths due to the COVID-19.
