SLPP condemns Karuna Amman’s statement

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Referring to former Minister Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan’s alias ‘Karuna Amman’s statement that he is more dangerous than Covid-19, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam said that they vehemently condemn the statement.

“We are not in a position to take the responsibility of the statement he made as he is neither a member of the SLPP nor a member of our affiliated group,” he told a news briefing yesterday.

“He is contesting the upcoming General Elections against our party from another newly formed party,” he added.

He said there was a tendency for Karuna Amman to make such statements when he is dealing with Ranil Wickremesinghe and Sajith Premadasa.

“However, we would like to categorically mention that Karuna Amman is not maintaining any links with our party for the upcoming General Elections and reiterate that we highly condemn the statement,” he added.
