Mobile App with bus schedules to be launched

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – A mobile application, to obtain time schedules for buses, will be launched today.

The app was developed in a bid to minimise the inconvenience faced by the public in having to wait for buses and to notify commuters if a bus faces a breakdown and any possible delays.

The Ministry of Passenger Transport Services said the app will grant users the ability to manage their time more effectively while also allowing commuters to avoid inconveniences caused due to private buses making long stops.

Commuters will be able to check bus time tables, the commencement of a journey to its completion including the bus fare via the app. The app will also indicate the location of a bus that a commuter needs to board.

The application can also be used to lodge complaints and will also include provisions to make online bus fare payments.
