388 persons nabbed during Police raids

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Another 388 persons have been arrested by Police during special raids carried out in the Western Province.

The raids were conducted between 6am yesterday and 5 this morning.

A majority of the suspects were arrested on charges of being in possession of heroin, with 145 persons being arrested.

113 persons were arrested on charges of being in possession of illicit liquor while 92 suspects were arrested in possession of marijuana.

The suspects also include 24 persons arrested in possession of goda and ICE and 14 individuals arrested during other raids.
