COVID-19 cases recorded in Sri Lanka rise to 2,081

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – The number of coronavirus cases has increased to 2,081 after four persons tested positive for the virus yesterday.

The Government Information Department said among the four cases was one Navy personnel undergoing quarantine, a returnee from Ethiopia, a returnee from Saudi Arabia and the inmate confirmed from the Welikada Prison.

Another 115 COVID-19 positive cases are presently receiving treatment.

The number of coronavirus recoveries rose to 1,955 yesterday.

Among the COVID-19 cases are 788 returnees from overseas and 905 Navy personnel.

35 individuals who are suspected to have contracted the virus are also under observation.
