PM Ranil, CBK, MR and Sambandan with election Commissioner at the Department’s 60th Anniversary

The Election Department marks its 60th anniversary today.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is the chief guest of the ceremony organized in this regard at the BMICH.

Our correspondent stated that former presidents Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, Mahinda Rajapaksa and Opposition Leader R. Sampandan are present at the 60th anniversary of the Election Department.

Addressing the ceremony Commissioner of Elections Mahinda Deshapriya said that the funds spent by candidates on propaganda should be audited. (HN)
