160 persons diagnosed with HIV-AIDS as of October this year alone: Dr. Sisira Liyanage

The Ministry of health today (01) stated that the authorities have identified 160 persons diagnosed with HIV-AIDS as of October this year alone.

The National STD Eradication Unit Director Dr. Sisira Liyanage asserted that the majority of these victims were between the age group of 25-45.

Accordingly the disease increases due to the tourism industry, use of drugs, homosexual behavior and immigration.
Over 228 persons diagnosed with HIV-AIDS were identified in 2014, Dr.Liyanage told.
