UK holds once-a-decade census
(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – A snapshot of life in England, Northern Ireland, and Wales is to be captured later when millions of people take part in the once-a-decade census.
People are being asked to complete an online questionnaire about every person living at their property.
For the first time it also includes voluntary questions for over-16s on gender identity and sexual orientation.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) stated that the 2021 census will provide insights into the impact of the pandemic and Brexit on people’s lives.
By law, public must complete or be accounted for in the census. Those who fail to fill it in or give false information can be fined up to GBP 1,000.
