Starz orders horror comedy “Shining Vale”
(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Starz has handed out a series order for the horror-comedy “Shining Vale” which boasts an impressive cast include Courteney Cox, Greg Kinnear, Mira Sorvino, Merrin Dungey, Gus Birney and Dylan Gage.
The half-hour series centers on a reformed wild child turned one-hit novelist (Cox) who, in a last-ditch attempt to save her crumbling marriage, moves her family from the city to an old house with a storied past in the suburbs.
She soon discovers that her personal demons may actually be real. Kinnear plays her husband, Dungey her best friend and editor, Birney and Gage are her teen kids, whilst Sorvino is Rosemary – a manifestation only the Cox character sees.
Starz has picked up eight episodes of the series which has been in the works for more than a year. The project hails from Jeff Astrof (“Trial & Error”) and Sharon Horgan (“Catastrophe”) with the pair writing and executive producing for Warner Bros. TV and Lionsgate TV.
