“Witcher 3” upgrade may involve modders
(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – A year ago it was announced that Polish developer CD Projekt Red will be updating “The Witcher 3” for modern consoles and PC hardware.
This ‘Complete Edition’ will feature a number of visual and technical improvements including ray-tracing and faster loading times along with all the DLC, and the update will be free for those who already own the game.
The current old version of “The Witcher 3” is one of the biggest titles in the game modding community in the past few years with hundreds of enhancements available for the PC version.
HalkHogan, the creator of ‘The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project’ mod, has revealed he got an official message from CD Projekt Red and it is likely their mod will be included as part of the next-gen update.
Hogan says: “I think the most important news is that I got an official message from CDPR about co-operation. While it’s not certain yet, it’s likely that HDRP will be included in the official next-generation update.”
Kotaku reached out to CD Projekt Red to confirm this, the company says: “We are also in talks with creators of various mods for the 2015 release of the game. As of this time, however, we do not have any binding agreements with any such party.”
The new version of “The Witcher 3” is expected out later this year.
