Basil has made a preventive bail application in the Supreme court through his lawyers. In his application, he mentioned that five cases against him are being heard in magistrate courts. FCID is trying to arrest him in this connection. Hence, he prayed that he be given preventive bail order, so that he won’t be arrested. Ten personnel including IGP, Officer in Charge of FCID and AG were cited as respondents.
A bench led by Chief Justice, K.Sribavan, Nihal Gunaratne and K.P.Chandrasiri are expected to examine this application today.
