Ministry of Transport and Western Development Ministry agreed to construct two way double railway track along the coastline between Kotte and Colombo Fort.
In order to proceed with this infrastructure railway track development, unauthorized structures of both sides of the track should be removed.
Nearly 2000 people are residing in these authorized structures which include houses. Alternate housing facilities will be provided to these unauthorized settlers elsewhere, Minister said.
Once, this project takes off grounds, traffic congestion on High-level Road and adjoining roads will be reduced considerably, he said.
