FCID Investigate Krish Corp. Commission of RS 450 Million to Namal?

In the year 2012, Indian Krish Corporation has entered into a agreement  with Urban Development Authority of Srilanka for SL Rs 650 million to provide prime State land in Colombo. Namal Rajapakshe’s  law firm “Namal Rajapakshe Associates” obtained legal consultancy in this connection and prepared documents.

During that time Dr.Godahewa  functioned as the Chairman of the Stock Exchange. In addition, he was also functioned as the adviser of Krish Corporation of India. One day, Dr,Godahewa received an SMS stating thus ” to approve Krish Corporation Project initial amount of Rs 450 million required”.

Followed by this, Rs450 million was found deposited in Namal Rajapaksh’s HSBC account in Singapore. This is confirmed. Urban Development authority insisted that this amount should have been paid to Urban Development Authority and not to  Namal.

Due to this dispute, entire Krish Corporation Project has came to a stand still and fine imposed on them. Once this matter was brought in Public domain, Namal advised Dr. Godahewa to pay back Rs 400 million to Krish Corporation. Accordingly, Dr.Godahewa paid back Rs 400 million to the Krish Corporation. FCID is to identify  whether Rs 450 million deposited in  Namal’s HSBC Singapore account is the commission  or for any other work.

Adviser to the Anti Bribery and Corruption Front , Ranjith Keerthi Tennakoon revealed this to the press.
