More than 40,000 vehicles utilize the Southern Expressway daily. It is estimated that the figure could exceed 55,000 during new year season.
A special traffic plan will be implemented during the festive season in order to minimize possible traffic congestion along expressways.
The Control Unit of the Southern Expressway said an additional exit gate will be established at all interchanges.
The Control Unit also requested the public to strict adhere to the given speed limits on the expressways.
