Progress Made by SL on UNHRC Resolution Will be Reported by UNHRC Commissioner Tomorrow

The UNHRC resolution co-sponsored by Sri Lanka, urged the government to address accountability and human rights issues and to set up up a judicial mechanism to investigate allegations of human rights violations during the final stages of the armed conflict. The Government has also proposed the setting up of an Office of Missing Persons.

I will present an update later during the session,” he said.
UN Human Rights High Commissioner Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein will update the UNHRC tomorrow on the progress made by the Sri Lankan Government in implementing the resolution adopted by the Council.
