Rishad Bathiudeen, Minister of Industry and Commerce has out-rightly condemned the move by the Northern Provincial Council’s decision seeking a federal solution for the country’s minority Tamil community.
In response to a question by a journalist in an event held at Nelunkulam in Vavuniya on 24th April 2016, Minister Bathiudeen said, that none of the politicians representing his All Ceylon People’s Congress backed the resolution.
He further added that a discussion would be held with the TNA leaders regarding the proposal within next few days.
The NPC adopted the resolution seeking a federal solution to resolve the ethnic issue for the country’s minority Tamil community. The resolution was presented by Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran while the Ministers and members of the council expressed views on the proposal afterwards.
