Five Arrested in Wattala and Remanded Till 10 th May

The track was constructed during the Mahinda regime, the destruction of the jogging track in late March created much controversy with the finger being pointed at Minister John Amaratunge. He denied any wrongdoing and said, that the track will be improvised and rebuilt.

The five individuals were arrested by the Wattala Police earlier in the day.

Five people who were arrested for the demolition of the Wattala jogging track were remanded till May 10 by the Mahara Magistrate’s Court yesterday(3).
