The preliminary assessment made after the blast in the ammunition dump of the Salawa Army camp in Kosgama disclosed, that 1100 houses destroyed and 18,628 personnel in refugee camps.
Investigation are being carried out under an ASP of the CID to ascertain the cause of ammunition dump blast.
A Brigadier in charge of this Army camp during the blast and 19 female soldiers, who were boarded near the ammunition dump were subjected to inquiry and their statements recorded. In the meantime Government has declared 500M distance from the destroyed Army camp as out of bounds for public. No one will be allowed to enter within this 500M boundary.
