Assistance of INTERPOL Sought in Cocaine Case

DIG Colombo, Ajith Rohana said in a press conference held at the Ministry of Finance yesterday, that the cocaine of 90 kg found was imported under the guise of importing sugar. On the 5th, information received and on the 12th detection was made with the help of STF . Two local  organizations have involved in this cocaine racket . Three individuals were arrested viz one Tamil and  Two Sinhalese.  He further said that INTERPOL assistance has been sought to identify the exporter and others involved in this cocaine racket.

In the meantime, there were news in pro Mahinda website that Ravi Karunanayake was the importer of the cocaine. But he has vehemently denied his involvement in this cocaine import . Further, he has demanded an inquiry  to find out the basis of such false propaganda by the pro Mahinda website.
