57 Countries Request President Maithiri to Stop Hatred Expressions of Buddhist Monks Against Muslims

Several Organizations representing Muslims in Srilanka reported to have written to Saudi Arabia-based World Organization of Islamic Cooperation regarding Mahiyangana incident, where BBS Secretary, Ven. Gnanasara Threo incited people against Muslims. This is the 2nd largest International organization in the world.
Followed by this, Saudi Arabia-based World Organization of Islamic Cooperation comprised of 57 Countries, has requested the President Maithripala Sirisena to take action immediately to stop hatred expressions by Buddhist monks against Muslim community in Srilanka.
Recent utterances made by BBS Secretary, Gnanasara Threo at Mahiyangana has created hatred against the Muslims among the people of Srilanka. As a result Muslims in Srilanka are facing difficulties in meeting their day to day   life.
Sources from the Presidential Secretariat revealed this.
However, some Sinhalese websites purposely include fabricated news on Muslims with the hidden agenda of creating tension among ethnic groups in Srilanka, said political observers.
