Kiribathgoda, Kadawatha Shops Closed due to Protest

A protest march will also be organised by the traders this afternoon, it was reported. Similar protests were staged in other parts of the country as well over the past few days. The VAT was increased from 11% to 15% with effect from 2nd  May 2016.

Many shop owners in Kiribathgoda, Kadawatha, Kelaniya, Anuradhapura, Badulla, Bandarawela and Katugastota closed their shops today (29) this  protests against the decision to increase the VAT . Daily activities in this areas have been affected with the closure of most shops.
