Dilan Perera on Next Presidential Election

In a press conference held at SLFP head quarters  yesterday. Minister Dilan Perera said that as per clause  15 of the Constitution either Chandrika or Mahinda cannot contest  Presidential Election again. President Maithree decided not  to contest second time. Hence, a person has to be selected from the SLFP. He or she may be from the SLFP or Joint Opposition , but the selected candidate should be popular among party men, he said.  We are  strengthening  the party now. We , the SLFP members are of the view that powers of the President should not be removed , he concluded.
