The Minister for Higher Education and Research recently visited Kumming, China to attend the China-South Asia Technology Transfer and Collaborative Innovation Forum. Upon his Return Dr Sarath Amunugama stated that Sri Lanka has reached an understanding with China, who have agreed to assist Sri Lanka in its Science and technology sector.
The University of Moratuwa and Jaffna will receive assistance from China.
The Minister further elaborated that though Sri Lanka possess the Petroleum resources necessary for nuclear technology we have so far been unable to use these resources. He concluded that it was high time our country acted towards its potential.
