United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) MP Udaya Gammanpila has called for a public referendum into the Indo – Lanka Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) MP Gammanpila said the opposition or any other group will not oppose the Agreement if the public consents to it.
He called on the government to table the ETCA agreement before the people and go for a referendum. If the public consents, then the Opposition won’t oppose it, he said.
He said the ETCA will be defeated in a public referendum with the support of all citizens.
