Wasim Thayudeen Murder: Former Crimes OIC Narahenpita Volunteered to Confess Murder

The Wasim Thajudeen murder case was taken up for inquiry before Colombo Magistrate, Nishantha Peiris.
Former DIG Anura Senanayake  and former crimes OIC of Narahenpita police Sumith Perera, both are currently in remand custody in connection with the killing of Wasim Thajudeen were produced in the court No.3 yesterday (26).
As per clause 127 of the criminal procedure code, Sumith Perera has requested permission to make a confession to crime before the magistrate  through his lawyer Ajith Pathirana.
Having granted  permission to make a confession,  magistrate Nishantha Peiris told the suspect to think about the decision again and make the confession, if he wanted  it necessary, at the next hearing, on June 09. The magistrate further remanded inspector Perera and other  suspect, former  senior DIG Anura Senanayake up to June 09.
