Namal Rajapaksa Before Colombo Fort Magistrate Court Today

Hambantota District UPFA MP, Namal Rajapaksa who is currently in remand custody will be produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate Court today(18).

MP Rajapaksa was arrested by the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division on the 11th of July over fraudulently obtaining 70 million rupees from a private firm.

Investigations revealed that MP Rajapaksa had informed a private company to provide 70 million rupees to a sports club in order to develop the sport of rugby.

A request by the MPs attorneys calling for bail on the 11th of July was rejected by Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne.
