Did Namal Spend 7 Billion to Develop Singapore Rugger Play?
FCID arrested Namal Rajapakshe for non-accounting of 7 billion received from Krish Corporation. Namal made a statement to the FCID, that he has spent Rs.7billion for the development of Carlton Rugby Club. When FCID confronted CEO and Directors of the Carlton Rugby Club with Namal’s statement, they out rightly rejected Namal’s claim and said that not a single cent is given by Namal to the club. Followed by this, Namal was arrested and produced in the court, which remanded him up to 18th July 2016. Latter on he was given bail by the court.
MP Dilum Amunugama claimed that Namal was arrested for obtaining funds to develop rugby in Srilanka. As the said Carlton Rugby Club had not received even a cent, did he spend Rs.7 billion for the development of Singapore Rugby? ask observers.
