48 Hour Token Strike by Veterinary Association

All meat brought to Colombo are subject to inspections daily prior to being put to stores.

The Chairman of the Association Keerthi Kumara said meat cannot be sold without clearance.

The Sri Lanka Veterinary Association says it will engage in a 48 hour token strike from 8am over several demands.

The Association said meat being transported to stores in Colombo will not be inspected today as a result.

The Sri Lanka Veterinary Association stressed it will withdraw from services over the next three days. Will there be a temporary  meat shortage due to this strike?
