Twelve (12) hour water cut will affect several areas in the Harispaththuwa and Akurana Secretariat Divisions today (13), the National Water Supply and Drainage Board announced.
The water cut will be imposed from 07.00pm today to 07.00am tomorrow (14). The water supply to Kahalla, Kahawatta, Akurana, Kurugoda, Thelambugahawatta, Harispaththuwa, Gohagoda, Nugawela, Barigama, Rajapihilla, Hadeniya, Medawala and Pujapitiya areas will be temporarily suspended during the aforementioned time period.
In addition to this a section of the Kandy municipal council area supplied water by the Asgiriya water tank will also be affected by the water cut. The water board said that the water supply to the aforementioned areas will be suspended due to repairs being carried out in the main transmission lines of Kandy water purification plant.
