Wild Elephant Attacks Cost 1 live & 10 Wounded

One person has been killed and 10 others have sustained injuries after the van they were travelling in was struck by a wild elephant in Puttalam.

The van  was travelling from Jaffna to Katunayake when the incident was reported 2.20am today (27) near the Mee Oya Bridge. The deceased in 39-year-old resident of Point Pedro Road, Jaffna. The body has been placed at the Puttalam Hospital and the injured have been admitted to the Puttalam Hospital for treatment.

The van had toppled after colliding with the elephant and the elephant began striking the van subsequently.
