A protest at Ella Divisional Secretariat office by a Group of people

A protest has been staged at the Ella Divisional Secretariat office by a group of people since this morning(21). The protest demonstration was staged in connection with  the failure to provide compensation for their lost properties due to the Uma Oya project. Over 250 persons have engaged in the protest. However, the Supreme Court had earlier ordered the Uva Province Director of Agriculture to compensate the farmers whose crops were affected as a result of the Uma Oya project.
