Mahinda Deshapriya Denied Gammanpila Lied

The Election Commissioner, Mahinda Deshapriya reported to have said, that if preliminary work for the Local Government election cannot be completed before 31st December, there is no point in stating the existence of an Election Commission in Srilanka.

All the members of the election Commission are of the view that the Local Government election should be held asa early as possible. He denied telling Gammanpila that he would resign from his post if he cannot complete Preliminary work for the Local Government election 31st December.
