A fire has broken out at a textile super center belonged to a Muslim near the Southern Expressway exit in Welipenna, Aluthgama. This same complex had been burnt twice earlier during Aluthgama clashes.
Kalutara Municipal Council and residents got together and doused the fire.However, even with the assistance of fire brigade, textiles and buildings could not be salvaged. The incident has taken place at 10.30 pm last night(22). Immediately after, the fire power supply in Dharga town and Aluthgama had been disconnected. On seeing the fire Mohamed Hilmy aged 52 of Aluthgama ,Dharga town died due to shock. Normalcy has been restored in the area.
Further investigation carried out by police.
