Forest Fires Destroyed 4,000 Acres in Srilanka

The Department of Forest Conservation states that approximately 4,000 acres of land has been destroyed this year alone, owing to fires.

Forest Conservation Department Director, Anura Sathurusinghe said  that the highest number of fires were reported from the Badulla District, Sri Lanka.

He  further said, that a considerable number of forest fires have also been reported from Ratnapura, Kandy and Polonnaruwa districts.
