The Joint Opposition and the JVP are planning to call for a debate in Parliament on the alleged misappropriation of a sum of Rs 700 million to digitize the People’s Bank services.
JO and the JVP said that they will be focusing their attention on the alleged scam at the next party leaders meeting in Parliament.
In the meantime , COPE has ordered the Auditor General’s Department to promptly submit a detailed report on the controversial PB digitizing project.
COPE had also asked the AG’s Department to call for a probe into the incident at ministerial level before submitting a report to it in a fortnight.
