The Supreme Court will today (28) reconsider a Fundamental Rights petition filed by Former United People’s Freedom Alliance MP Tiran Alles calling for an order against the prevention of his arrest.
The petition will be heard before a panel consisting judges Eva Wanasundara, Anil Guneratne and Prasanna Jayawardene.
A case has been filed by the Attorney General against Former MP Tiran Alles, Rohan Saliya Weerawickramasuriya and Jayantha Dias over the misuse of 200 million rupees given to the Reconstruction and Development Agency in order to provide relief to those affected by the Tsunami in the North-Eastern Province. The funds were provided to RADA allegedly through the Presidential Secretariat.
