Champika Suggests to Set Special Court to Inquire CB Bonds Scam

Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka while referring to the bonds scam yesterday said, that the Government need to set up   a special court to inquire into such cases. He told in a news conference that those responsible for the bonds scam should be brought to book.  The Government should introduce a separate court to investigate, if a separate court cannot be allocated for this purpose. Unless wrong doers are punished, the Government will be stuck in the mud, when it comes to economic or social development. Government had no mandate to cover up such matters. Further he said, there were no proper coordination among the law enforcing agencies in our country. No purpose were saved by investigating the fraud and corruption and crimes  committed by the former regime, if the Central Bank bond scamp is left hanging on the air without taking follow up action.
