A Female Friend or Relation During Delivery

 Colombo Castle  Maternity hospital, Gynaecologist Hemantha Senanayake, said that a female friend or relation is allowed to be there in the delivery room during delivery . Firstly this step  was taken during the year 2008 and in 2011 this right was granted. This step is taken to give mental strength to the mother who  delivers the child.

He said most of the peoples are not aware of this facility.  Steps will be taken to make  awareness in the future.
